Graphic Organizer Websites



Graphic Organizers are fabulous tools that foster brainstorming, outlining, and concept mapping. Many online graphic organizers allow students to manipulate their thoughts and switch from outline and map view, all while they create an organized web of ideas in order to write a succinct, effective piece of writing.


Zoho a free word processing on the web. Email and telephone support is provided.


Eduplace free multiple graphic organizers for any writing format. Technical support is provided online or by phone.


Kidspiration- provides graphic organizers. The cost for a single package is $69.00. For a 20 computer license it is $895.00 Support is provided via online by videos and webcast. On top of that one can purchase another costly software program that will instruct educators how to use kidspiration effectively. It is available from sublime learning.

Don Johnston – software program called draft builders, it is a talking graphic organizer that structures the writing process from the first idea to writing the first draft. A single computer license cost $159.00.For professional development, the items below can be ordered or a visiting educator can perform a workshop for the cost of $2300.



East Greenwich Public Schools – a school based website with information for teachers, had a variety of topics. I was not able to access the page for writing tools.


Spark-Space – similar to Don Johnston packages. Software is available for students with writing difficulties
